SymmetricDS is software that replicates relational database tables between multiple databases. It uses a light-weight, web-based protocol to send and receive data, which makes it easy to work with firewalls. Replication is done in the background asynchronously, allowing data changes in offline mode. It supports most commercial and open source database platforms.
A SymmetricDS Profile is a custom configuration, created by JumpMind, used to lay the groundwork for data synchronization for software products. The Profiles typically include trigger definitions for the tables commonly used in the product, node group and channel definitions, and other common SymmetricDS configuration.
The SymmetricDS Oracle POS Profile provides the groundwork for a complete store integration system, based on SymmetricDS, for use with Oracle POS. The Profile contains configuration (triggers, routers, etc.) for nearly 200 of the most commonly used tables from the ARTS-based schema used by Oracle POS. In addition, synchronization is pre-configured for Central Office to Store Server data flow and vice versa, with data segmentation into commonly used channels of retail data. The Oracle POS Profile provides you with a configuration that has been tested and is stable. Combined with additional configuration and customizations available through a JumpStart, retailers are well on their way to establishing a reliable, flexible store integration solution.
SymmetricDS for Oracle POS provides the pre-configured groundwork for a complete store integration system for Oracle POS. The configuration has been pre-tested and stable. Combined with additional configuration and customizations available through a JumpStart, retailers are well on their way to establishing a reliable, easily-configurable store integration solution.
Yes, the SymmetricDS configuration is as simple as adding data to configuration tables. The base configuration provided is visible and can easily be modified to support your company's specific needs.
SymmetricDS provides a solid, well-tested, reliable means with which to accomplish all of your data transfer and integration needs, and it does it using a single, consistent mechanism. Not only can data change be sent to stores (or received from stores), SymmetricDS provides the capabilities to publish JMS messages and the like to legacy systems as needed. Through the use of SymmetricDS, the central office database can effectively and efficiently be used as a staging ground for all data to be sent to stores with data being sent as needed based on the data itself to specific stores, all stores, etc.
The configuration is kept current and currently matches the schema of Oracle POS 13.1. With minor changes it should be quite easy to match the configuration to earlier and future releases.
JumpMind has years of experience working with retailers in implementing Oracle POS. We know the Oracle POS product quite while and have extensive customization experience as well. We also have development, architecture, and project management staff available to make your implementation a succesful one. JumpMind even has international retail experience and has worked with US-based retailers as they expanded into Europe, Asia, and elsewhere.
