Welcome to Jumpmind Reveal, a blog series showcasing some of the talented folks we have here at Jumpmind. In today’s installment, we bring you a profile on Arianna Marks, who recently joined Jumpmind as Retail Transformation Lead, and is based in Minneapolis.
Can you tell us about your background?
I’ve been in the retail industry for many years, and before I worked in software sales, I worked as a retail store associate. I worked at stores including Tommy Bahama, Macy’s and BCBG Max Azria. My background gives me a very solid understanding of the retail store associate and customer experience, and how it could be improved with technology. Being able to put myself in the shoes of a retail team and understand the problems associates face on the sales floor is incredibly valuable.
What made you excited to join Jumpmind?
There’s a lot of transformation happening across retail right now, and I love how Jumpmind is enabling retailers to make the store experience more seamless and connected for both customers and employees. For example, the sales associate who is stuck behind a cash register is way less effective than one who is untethered and can engage with customers throughout the store. Jumpmind allows them to go mobile and help customers anywhere in the store.
The people at Jumpmind are also great, it’s a really fun team and I’m excited to get to know them!
Where can we find you outside of work?
I love to travel and attend concerts – anything social where I’m spending time with family and friends! I also enjoy running and walking my dog, Zara, who is an adorable pomski.
I also love to bake after work. Right now, for fall, I’m baking everything pumpkin – from pumpkin bars to white chocolate chip pumpkin snickerdoodles.
I often deliver surprise baked goods to friends and neighbors. My favorite goodies are “Rockstar cookies” made with coffee and pieces of pretzels, chocolate chips, and Heath bar. They’re a little salty and a little sweet – the perfect combination.
What’s your secret to making amazing baked goods?
Vanilla and cinnamon. I always add them to recipes if they aren’t included and double the quantity if they are; it makes everything taste so much better.
