What’s New in SymmetricDS Pro 3.13

The new release of SymmetricDS Pro 3.13 will help you:

  • Navigate the web console with a new look and feel that features a new dark mode
  • Replicate changes from PostgreSQL using logs or triggers
  • Capture and load data with Azure Cosmos and MongoDB databases
  • Stream changes to Elasticsearch and Amazon OpenSearch
  • Start up faster and keep the system cleaner

New Look and Feel

The web console has a new look and feel, with the option to switch between light and dark modes. The underlying UI architecture was upgraded to use web components that can handle the display of large amounts of data while remaining responsive. Screens use lazy loading to display the viewable portion of long lists, like lists of nodes or batches, to improve performance and save memory.

Log-based Replication for PostgreSQL

Flexible database replication lets you choose between log-based or trigger-based change data capture for PostgreSQL databases. Log-based data replication is now an option when minimal overhead and high throughput is required. The node wizard sets up log replication and guides you through database permissions needed for log mining. The same powerful configurations are available for either option, including selecting tables, columns, data subsets, conflict management, and data transformation.

Azure Cosmos and MongoDB

Replicate changes from relational databases to and from NoSQL databases, including Azure Cosmos and MongoDB Atlas. These dialects have bi-directional support that includes change data capture, sub-setting, transformations, and initial loads. Both NoSQL databases feature elastically scaling throughput and storage with partitioning of data for high availability.

Elasticsearch and Amazon OpenSearch

Improve access and add meaning to your data by consolidating it into the Elasticsearch platform, where it can be searched and visualized. Deploy replication of changes to Elasticsearch in a cross-platform, heterogeneous environment for data integration in near real time. Enable powerful full text search and visualization of data by combining Elasticsearch and Kibana.

Faster Startup, Cleaner System

Performance of startup was improved by skipping checks on database runtime objects unless there is a configuration or software change detected. Replication and access to the web console can begin earlier after a restart, reducing the downtime needed for maintenance. Shutdown was improved to use an orderly closing of connections and stopping of jobs to properly reclaim resources. The purge job was updated to remove old trigger history and given its own retention setting. The purge of extract requests was improved to be more efficient for large systems.
