New Dashboard in SymmetricDS Pro 3.9

SymmetricDS Pro can replicate thousands of databases with easy maintenance from a central web console.

Columbus, Ohio – January 9, 2018 –
JumpMind, a leading provider of data integration software, announced today the availability of SymmetricDS
Pro version 3.9
, an enterprise data replication server with cross compatibility between popular database
platforms. This release revamps the web console for managing replication across thousands of remote databases
and troubleshooting any problems from a central location.

“The web console is the first place anyone goes to see how data replication is performing, and we wanted users
to quickly understand the system health from a single screen,” said Mark Michalek, Program Manager for
SymmetricDS Pro. The Dashboard was improved with additional views and a new layout that can be
customized by the user. New views include a summary view with an overall health score and a speed view that
measures the rate of data changes being processed.

Michalek said, “We wanted to give better feedback on performance, so we added more statistics on batches and
present them in real time while data is processed.” By using remote node status, delivered immediately via
WebSockets, screens now show progress bars with process times and row counts as data replication progresses,
giving the user better visibility into the system. Clicking on batches lets the user drill down to investigate
issues, and the batch screens were improved with graphical statistics and advanced filtering.

Custom jobs can now be configured by the user to execute scripts on a schedule, with access to the database
and the replication API. Scripts are part of the configuration kept in sync across all nodes, so they can be
scheduled to run on remote databases. Michalek said, “Running SQL or accessing the replication API in a
custom job lets users automate tasks or perform database maintenance across one or all of their databases.”

The staging area was enhanced using compression to conserve disk space and encryption to protect data.
Staging data to disk improves performance by reducing the time resources are held open in the database and
over the network. The enhanced staging enables better performance without sacrificing security or space.

The SymmetricDS Pro 3.9 release reinforces central management of data replication across databases that are
widely distributed. Michalek said, “With customers replicating thousands of databases, it’s important that we
continue to make it as easy as possible to maintain systems remotely and troubleshoot issues from a central
office.”

JumpMind offers a free trial version of SymmetricDS Pro for 90 days to evaluate the data replication software.
